Squeaky Leather Sofa
Oneshot

Phoenix sighed as he flopped down on the sofa, briefcase and all.  A long day of court and little sleep the night before had left him in not the best of moods.  The echo of Payne's screeching voice in his ear didn't help matters.  But there was one thing he'd been able to look forward, and that was not having to return to his apartment, alone.

In fact, it was Edgeworth's white leather sofa he had settled in.  Over the past few weeks of their growing relationship Phoenix had come to realize what a comfort it was, having the spare key with him.  Whenever he didn't feel like an evening alone he could help himself to some company.  Shockingly, Edgeworth didn't seem to mind.  Sometimes their time together was as exciting as Phoenix watching TV on this very sofa while Edgeworth prepared for court the next day, but even that was a welcomed relief.

Except that Edgeworth wasn't home yet.  His own case that day was more complicated than Phoenix's own, and chances were he wouldn't be let out until later.  So Phoenix made himself comfortable for the wait, flicking on the television.  If he was lucky, Edgeworth would come home in a better mood than he had, and they could share the evening together.  A…very pleasant evening, maybe.

Phoenix blushed as he flipped through the channels.  Edgeworth was a bad influence on him--it had been a while since he'd been in a relationship, let alone one as…physical as theirs had become.  They'd worn this particular sofa in so many times now that sometimes just the sound of a body resettling on the leather was enough to make his stomach tingle.

The news came on, and Phoenix paid only little attention.  That is, until a familiar prosecutor showed up on the screen.  Phoenix quickly turned up the volume--Edgeworth's case had ended with a guilty verdict, as usual.

"We've always been very confident in Mr. Mathers' guilt," the prosecutor was saying to a group of reporters outside the district courthouse.  "There may have been some difficulties early on, but cooperation within the department has never been smoother…"

Phoenix smiled to himself as he watched the report go on.  He didn't know much about the case, other than how hard Edgeworth had been working on it over the past few days.  He was relieved to see it end successfully, and…selfishly glad, as well.  He'll probably be in a good mood when he comes home, Phoenix couldn't help but think.  He shifted slightly, and the squeak of the cushions made his blush darken as his imagination took hold.  And he loves being on TV.  I hope the Tivo is getting this…?  He glanced down to the cable box and smiled.  Yup.  Definitely a good-mood-Edgeworth tonight.

And that was very encouraging: it was just the kind of Edgeworth he could use after his long and trying day.  Phoenix relaxed further as he watched Edgeworth's face take up the screen.  I can see why he likes being on TV so much.  He always looks great on camera.  The light always hit him best--he had no bad sides.  Even on days when court had been especially difficult, and he emerged looking a bit mussed, that only added to his attraction.  The guilty verdict brought light and confidence into his eyes, and his little smirk--God, that coy little smirk that did wonders in a darkened room--was almost too perfect.

Phoenix's eyes thinned happily.  Edgeworth was still talking, but his deep voice rumbled to the back of Phoenix's mind, until he didn't care what was being said any longer.  All he could hear was the half-mumbled invitation Edgeworth had said against his ear early that morning.

"I'll see you tonight."

His groin gave a tiny throb of anticipation.  Phoenix sighed, by now thoroughly convinced in his own mind that his day was going to end quite sweetly.  The news moved on but he didn't care, filling his imagination with Edgeworth's low voice and cocky grin, letting them spark energy back into his work-weary body.  It worked with startling effectiveness, and Phoenix barely realized his hand had moved until it was in his lap, gently stroking the beginnings of his arousal.

"Edgeworth…."  Phoenix murmured softly, shifting his knees further apart.  He hadn't realized just how strong his fantasizing could be: it didn't take much to pretend the strong fingers sliding down the front of his pants weren't his own.  With barely any effort his cock was hardened to a throbbing intensity, and he stroked as best he could in the fabric confines.   Even alone he couldn't help but be embarrassed by how easily Edgeworth's face and voice alone had excited him to such a state.

It was the unmistakable sound of keys hitting the kitchen table that jarred Phoenix back to reality.

"Wright…?"

Phoenix jumped--hand down his pants, face darkly flushed, sweat on his brow--and footsteps were suddenly coming closer.  Out of options, he snatched up his briefcase and pulled it into his lap.  Least convincing cover-up ever.

Edgeworth rounded the sofa.  He still had his long coat on over the familiar magenta suit, his hair was damp and close to his face from what might have been rain.  He took in the sight of his disheveled companion with a curious eye.  "Are you…all right?"

Phoenix struggled to get his breath back to a normal rhythm.  "…Yes?"

Edgeworth raised an eyebrow, and his lips curled into that goddamn smirk--the exact expression that had made Phoenix's stomach tighten only a few minutes ago.  His eyes slid over Phoenix's, calculating, then skipped to the television, and back.

"Please tell me you're not masturbating to the daily stock totals."

Phoenix blushed back to his ears as his lips stumbled over a response.  "N-No, not that--I mean, I wasn't--"  But he was caught, and every extra stutter only made Edgeworth's expression more unbearable.  His toes pawed at the hardwood floor beneath them.  "You were just on," he had no choice but to confess.  "At…the courthouse…"

Edgeworth looks surprised a moment, but then his expression slid back into devilish amusement.  He slid out of his overcoat and let it sag wetly to the floor.  "Is that so?"

Phoenix gulped; he was still hard and anxious beneath his fingers, and it didn’t help that Edgeworth looked surprisingly good with his hair clinging to his cheeks.  It reminded him of that time they'd spent in the shower….  "It wasn't raining on the interview…" he said dumbly.  How had Miles arrived so quickly?

"That was pre-taped two hours ago," Miles told him.  He loosened his cravat as he came closer.  "It's raining now."

"Oh…."  Phoenix licked his lips, feeling foolish.  His heart jolted again when he realized Edgeworth was lowering himself to his knees in front of him.  "Wait--what are you--"

Edgeworth pushed the briefcase aside, gently--but firmly--pulling Phoenix's hand away by the wrist.  Phoenix was too dumbfounded to protest.

"Since I turn you on so much," Edgeworth teased, "I might as well finish the job."

Phoenix bit his lip, and found he couldn't speak.  He could only watch, eyes wide with disbelief, as Edgeworth tugged his pants down just enough to free his rather impressive erection.  Thankfully, Edgeworth didn't seem interested in torturing Phoenix like he sometimes did: he wasted no time in sliding his warm, perfect mouth over him, taking him in almost completely all at once.

Phoenix groaned deeply as a shudder of pleasure spread all through him.  However strong his imagination had been, Edgeworth's tight lips and clever tongue put it to shame.  Each slow suck doubled the pressure already building in his abdomen, urging him to shift his hips forward along with the subtle rhythm.

Edeworth welcomed him.  As he continued to take Phoenix deeper into his mouth his fingertips crept beneath the man's shirt, rubbing his waist and back.  His skin was chill from the rain and sent fresh shivers through the lust-charged body beneath them.  Phoenix gasped and moaned, clutching at Edgeworth's suit-clad shoulder and wet hair.  "Edgeworth…."  He trembled and arched his back.  "I-I can't…."

Edgeworth pulled back, and suddenly the warm perfection of his mouth was replaced by cool, moist fabric, which sent another hard shudder through the off-guard Phoenix.  He whimpered as a few firm strokes of Edgeworth's strong fingers drew from him a long, throbbing climax.  Utterly spent, he collapsed against the sofa.

"Edgeworth…"  Phoenix took in quick gulps of air as he struggled to regain his composure.  Glancing down, he realized it was the prosecutor's silk cravat that was being used to wipe him clean.  He flinched in surprise.  "Wh-What are you doing?"

"Hm?"  Edgeworth wiped his mouth on the corner and folded the material neatly.

"Ugh…but…."  Phoenix's brow furrowed as he watched Edgeworth climb to his feet.  "But you wear that."

"I have extras."  Edgeworth flashed him another dry smirk.  "Don't be such a prude."

"A prude…!?"  Phoenix drew his knees in self-consciously and tucked himself back into his pants.  I was the one caught…"red-handed" when you walked in…  "I'm not--"

"Relax," Edgeworth told him as he reclaimed his trench coat and rounded the sofa toward the kitchen once more.  "Take a nap or something."  His voice was thick with amusement.  "We've got the whole rest of the evening, after all."

Pheonix blushed again, and after some hesitation settled again.  "Okay…."  A boyish grin crept across his face.

A very good mood indeed.
